Capricorn
The Sci Fi Network announced today it's picked up a full season of Caprica, the upcoming (production mid-2009, two-hour pilot 2010) prequel series to the much-loved Battlestar Galactica series. Caprica was announced in April and signed for a UK run in August, leading devotees to call for a US release; given Battlestar Galactica's success for Sci Fi, seems like an obvious choice.
There's plot description but it's all "Twelve Colonies this" and "cybernetic life-form node that" and I'm not up to speed on all that. Lead cast includes Eric Stoltz, Esai Morales, Paula Malcolmson, and Polly Walker. Apparently the show is pretty good.

From Sci Fi's description:
Caprica weaves corporate intrigue, techno-action and sexual politics into television's first science fiction family saga.
Not the first, surely?
